The opening of patios this year in Toronto may have come a bit later than we’d have liked, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make the most of the last few weeks of nice weather and dine al fresco. The city has only guaranteed street patios until November 1st, and even though temperatures are dropping, we know it won’t stop Canadians from patio life.
This week we’re featuring a handful of patios in and around Ossington Avenue, so all you Trinity Park baddies can take a break from slacklining and spikeball and fuel up at one of the many restaurants lining this trendy stretch. From Dundas to Queen, here’s some old and new Ossington patios you need to visit before they’re gone for the year.

Hanmoto – 2 Lakeview Ave
First up is Hanmoto for some legendary Japanese tapas. The Salmon Aburi is well worth your while, and the Moto Eggs and Hamachi Tartare are also favourites here among the Eating Through TO team.

Juicebox Bar – 1166 Dundas St W
Soso Food Club may have shut down, however their work with Grape Crush Wine continues on through Juicebox Bar, complete with a patio! They have a hefty selection of wines you can’t find at the LCBO and better yet you can purchase bottles at the bottle shop to bring home.

Paris Paris – 1161 Dundas St W
This wine bar has opened a patio along Dundas Street just west of Ossington and is pouring some fun wines by the glass. Grab a seat at one of the picnic tables and be the envy of the passing streetcars.

Bar Sybanne – 229 Ossington Ave
Sharing is caring we always say, so why not bond over some delicious Middle Eastern & Moroccan sharing plates at Bar Sybanne? The patio is open Wednesday through Sunday and is the perfect (and only) place to enjoy a signature Sybanne Spritz – cheers!

Manita – 210 Ossington Ave
New to the street is Manita – a neighbourhood café, grocery and wine bar from the folks behind Grand Electric in Parkdale. Complete with a patio kept shady under the awning, they’re serving up small plates, espresso, and of course vino galore.

The Last Resort – 146 Ossington Ave
Another new patio to add to your notes app is The Last Resort which originates from the combination of a plant store, bottle shop and taco joint. It’s truly the collaboration we didn’t know we needed. Sip wine, beer, or a boozy cocktail slushy between bites of tacos and check out Dynasty Gardens on your way out for the chance to give a gorgeous plant its forever home.

I deal Coffee + Wine Bar – 162 Ossington Ave
Sit back and sip in the shady paradise that is the I deal Coffee + Wine Bar patio. This coffee roaster/cafe/wine bar has the beveragino for anytime of the day or night. Did someone say beveragino?

Mamakas Taverna – 80 Ossington Ave
Tucked away on Humbert Street the Mamakas patio is what we like to call ~romantic~. With an authentic menu of elevated Aegean cuisine and an all-Greek wine list, this is the perfect place to enjoy an evening with someone special.

Union – 72 Ossington Ave
Nothing says luxury quite like seafood, and although Union is not technically seaside, the Seafood Tower offered Sunday nights is so fresh you’ll imagine that salty breeze anyway. Grab a few friends and dive in at their back patio that’s got plenty of elbow room.
